On Monday, April 9, 2018, the Bel Air High School Varsity Tennis team went up against Aberdeen at home for their third game of the season. The Bobcats were able to take a solid 8-3 win over the Eagles.

The team had been coming off a previous win against Fallston so the bar was set high. The Eagles at the time had not won a game yet so the Bobcats knew how important it was to take the win. First singles players Kirsten Tran and Vivekraj Harinarayan were both able to take wins with a 6-0 and 6-3 score from Harinarayan and a 6-0 and 6-1 score from Tran.

The Bobcats were also able to take wins in other regions of the match. The freshmen contributed greatly to the Bobcats’ victory, with wins from Shreya Sharma, Mandy Tran and Chloe Tran. The Men and Women’s doubles players also contributed to the overall score after wins were racked up from Dhara Patel and Jacqui Zorzi, Ryan Surasky and Jake Fiacco, and Akash Lujan and Sahil Shah.

“I’m so glad we were able to beat Aberdeen. We are off to an excellent start to our season and I look forward to seeing how we do in our upcoming matches”, said Varsity Doubles player, Dhara Patel.

The Bobcats now have a 3-0 record after taking a 6-5 win over rising sun, an 8-3 win over Fallston and now another 8-3 win over Aberdeen. Next, they face Patterson Mill away at Patterson Mill High school where they will defend their undefeated record.

“We are doing really well this season and I hope we can beat Patterson Mill at our next match”, said Varsity Tennis player, Kit Lombard.
