Softball Falls Twice in Same Week

On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, the Varsity softball team played at Bel Air High School against the North East Eagles. The Bobcats won with a score of 2-0.

In the field, Senior, Amanda Criss pitched for the Bobcats, where she struck out six and walked none. Criss also gave up no runs and just four hits in seven innings. The Bobcats also played tight defense where they committed no errors.

At the plate, leaders include Freshmen, Emma Sanza and Abby Bannan, Sophomore, Maddie Bosley, Juniors, Kat Perea and Hailey Lane, and Senior, Amanda Criss, where they each put up one hit to lead the Bobcats.

“I’m so proud of the way our team came together and played a near perfect game. We played so well together and this was a well-deserved win for us,” says Junior, Kat Perea.

Then, on Thursday, April 19, the Bobcats traveled to Rising Sun High School to play the Tigers for the second time in the week. The Bobcats lost with a score of 7-4.

Senior, Amanda Criss pitched for the Bobcats, where they gave up 7 runs and 11 hits over seven innings. Criss also struck out 13 batters.

At the plate, Sophomore, Peyton Hale led the Bobcats by going 4-4. Other leaders include Senior, Amanda Criss, and Juniors, Kat Perea and Arianna Dramis, who also put up a hit for the Bobcats.

“We started out really well in this game but we just couldn’t hold on to it. However, I have confidence that we can pull ourselves together and do better in future games,” says Junior, Arianna Dramis.
