On Tuesday, April 17 2018, the Bel Air High School Track team went to Edgewood High School to compete in the 6th track meet of the season.

For the men’s 100 meter dash, Kurt Nolasco placed 2nd. As for the women’s 100 meter dash, Carolyn Klein placed 5th. During the men’s 200 meter dash, Jake Rolocut placed 1st with a time of 23.7 seconds! Bel Air had another win during the women’s 200 meter dash with Emilia Dziedic placing 1st with a time of 28.2 seconds! For the men’s 400 meter dash, Maxwell Fisher placed 3rd. as for the women’s 400 meter dash, Caitlyn Chan placed 3rd. during the men’s 800 meter dash, Kieran McDermott placed 1st with a time of 1:56! Bel air had another win during the women’s 800 meter dash with Faith Loftus placing 1st with a time of 2:32! For the men’s 1600 meter dash, Andrew Plowman placed 1st with a time of 4:49! As for the women’s 1600 meter dash, Paige Blaker placed 1st as well with a time of 5:46!  For the men’s 3200 meter dash, Josh Murrell placed 1st with a time of 10:38! As for the women’s 1600 meter dash, Rebekah Cross placed 1st with a time of 12:12!

During the men’s 110 meter hurdle, Owen Sparr placed 2nd. For the women’s 100 meter hurdle, Lydia Cross placed 1st with a time of 17.7 seconds! For the men’s 300 meter hurdle, Stephen Cullinan placed 1st with a time of 46.1! As for the women’s 300 meter hurdle, Bel Air came out with another win by Sophie Knott placing 1st with a time of 51.4! For the men’s 4×100 relay Bel Air placed 2nd. For the women’s 4×100 relay Bel Air placed 2nd. For the men and women’s 4×200 relay, Bel Air placed 2nd. For the men and women’s 4×400 relay, Bel Air placed 1st! For the men’s 4×800 relay, Bel Air placed 2nd. As for the women’s 4×800 relay, Bel Air placed 3rd.

“Considering the competition that we faced and among other schools in the county, we performed as well as we needed to.” Said Jake Rolocut.

During the men’s shot put, Jake Rolocut placed 1st and for the women’s shot put, Lillian Smith placed 1st! During the men’s discus, Jake Rolocut placed 1st! During the women’s discus, Riley Jester placed 4th. During the men’s High Jump, Stephen Cullinan placed 1st! For the women’s high jump, Mackenzie Plowman placed 2nd. For the men’s pole vault, Nick Hammond placed 4th. For the men’s long jump, Stephen Cullinan placed 1st! Bel Air had another win during the women’s long jump with Emilia Dziedic placing 1st! Finally, for the men’s triple jump, Jackson Owens placed 1st!

“I think the team did really good during this meet. We had a lot of wins and had some really good competition!” said Meliyah Faison, Bel Air track runner.
