Monday, March 9, 2018, Bel Air Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse team played at John Carroll High School against the Patriots at 6:45pm. Unfortunately, The Bobcats didn’t come home with a win, as they were defeated 10-13 in a close game.

The Bobcats also had a game Saturday, March 7, 2018 at Century High School, playing the Knights. This game was also a close one with the score 7-8, a win for the Knights.

At the John Carroll game, Bel Air played well and gave it their all. This game made them push to play the best they could, and they played as a team to achieve their best.

“The John Carroll game was rougher than the others, but it made us realize that we’re not invincible. We still have high hopes for the rest of the season. We’re still a strong team,” says Chelsea Gostomski, a member of the Bel Air Lacrosse team.

At the Century game, Bel Air gave it their all and pushed themselves to do better. The team realized they’re not always going to win and that they need to give it 110%. Bel Air could easily learn from their mistakes and work hard to do better, these losses gave the team motivation to play better and win.

“No matter the time we had left in the game, we still went just as hard,” Says Anna McQuay.

Bel Air played their best and worked hard during the game. The Bobcats tied the game at 5 right after the half thanks to Gabby Trzeciak’s goal. There were goals made by Grace Wehland, Lauren Asher, Elizabeth Hillman, Julia Henry, Gabby Trzeciak, Caroline Fallace, and Keeley McHugh. Assists were made by Maggi Hall and Julia Henry. Goalie, Riley Patrick saved 6 goals. The girls are constantly pushing themselves to do better and the girls on the sidelines are always cheering their teammates on. They played smart and didn’t rush to shoot.

The Bobcats will hope to learn from these losses and come back stronger than ever.
