On Monday, March 26, 2018, the Varsity Softball team played their first game of the season against North East High School. The Bobcats started the season off with a big win with a score of 8-1.

After playing a scrimmage against Perry Hall, the Bobcats knew what they needed to work on to prepare themselves for North East. In the field, Senior Amanda Criss pitched for the Bobcats and only gave up 1 run to help the Cats’ capture their win.

At the Plate, Senior Amanda Criss and Sophomore Maddie Bosley both hit triples. Freshmen Abby Bannan and Emma Sanza also stepped up at the plate to score more runs for the Bobcats.

“I think our team is really coming together,” says Senior Captain Amanda Criss. “We did a lot of things right in that game and hopefully we can carry that on in future games.”

Then, on Friday, April 4, the Bobcats traveled to Bo Manor High School to play against the Eagles. Unfortunately, Bel Air fell just short with a score of 2-0.

Senior Amanda Criss pitched a strong game and gave up minimal hits. Junior Hailey Lane and Sophomore Maddie Bosley both made great catches to end separate innings to stop the Eagles from scoring more runs.

“Bo Manor is one of the best competitors in the whole state. This was a game we definitely could’ve won, but some things just didn’t go our way, but these things can be worked on in practice from here on out,” says Sophomore Maddie Bosley.
