Bel Air Impresses in First Home Track Meet of the Season

On Thursday, April 5 2018, the Bel Air High School Track team competed in their second track meet of the season at Bel Air High School.

During the men and women’s 100 meter dash, Kurt Nolasco placed first for the men and Caitlyn Graney placed 5th for the women. Caitlyn Graney also placed 2nd in the women’s 200 meter dash. Kurt Nolasco also placed 3rd in the men’s 200 meter dash, and 4th in the men’s 400 meter dash. As for the women’s 400 meter dash, Lauren Von Bank placed 6th for the women. For the men and women’s 800 meter dash, John Tran placed 11th and Katherine Ausmus placed second. For the men and women’s 1600 meter dash, Stephen Cullinan placed 6th in men’s and Paige Blaker placed 2nd in women’s. During the 3200 meter dash for men’s, Haden Kellagher placed 5th and for the women’s, Lauren LeDonne placed 3rd.

During the men’s 110 meter hurdle, Owen Sparr placed 4th. For the women’s 100 meter hurdle, Lydia Cross placed 1st with a time of 18 seconds! For the men and women’s 300 meter hurdle, Bryson Foye placed 3rd and Lydia Cross placed 2nd. 

“Everybody ran hard yesterday even though C. Milton won. We had a lot of personal records set for our JV athletes so that is more than enough.” Said Bryson Foye, Bel Air High School Track member.

During the 4×100 Relay for men’s, Bel Air placed 1st! For the 4×100 for women, Bel Air placed 3rd. for the men’s 4×200 Relay, Bel Air placed 3rd. as for the women’s 4×200 Relay, Bel Air placed 1st! For the men’s 4×400 meter, Bel Air placed 3rd. for the women’s 4×400 relay, Bel Air placed 1st! For the men’s 4×800 race, Bel Air placed 3rd. During the men’s Shot Put, Jake Rolocut placed 2nd. As for the women’s Shot Put, Lillian Smith placed 3rd. during the men’s Discus, Mason Wooten placed 2nd and for the women’s Discus, Lillian Smith placed 4th. Lastly, for the men’s triple jump, Jackson Owens placed 4th.

“Individually I placed in 2 of my 3 events but as a whole I believe we performed just as well.” Said Bel Air High School Junior, Jake Rolocut.
