Bel Air Swimming at States

On Saturday, February 24, 2018, select Bobcat Swimmers who qualified at their Regional tournament competed against the state of Maryland’s best swimmers and divers in the 208 MPSAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Maryland, in College Park MD.

Bel Air’s Xavier Kane Competed in the Men’s 50 Yard breaststroke finishing 21st out of 24 swimmers. Eliza Cohen finished 14th out of 24 swimmers in the Women 100 Yard Breaststroke. Also Drew Gagnon, Matt Weaver, and Xavier Kane, and Stephen Cullinan finished 19th in the Men 200 Yard Medley.

“I’m proud of my team, and how we competed against the state’s best swimmers,” said Varsity Swimmer Matt Weaver.

Bel Air finished 24th out of 28 teams with 3 points in the woman team rankings. And the men finished 19th with ten total points. Overall the Bobcat Swim team represented our school excellently.

“I am excited for the swimmers on my team that competed in the State swim meet, and I can’t wait for the next season,” said Varsity Swimmer Micah Ernest.

The Bobcats had a great swim season and they deserve any accomplishment they earned along the way. We wish all Senior Swimmers farewell and congratulations on a fantastic final season.
