Girls’ Basketball Takes Losses to Patterson Mill, Good Counsel

On Friday, January 19, 2018, the Junior Varsity and Varsity Girls’ basketball team traveled to Patterson Mill High School to play the Huskies. Junior Varsity captured another win and Varsity fell just short.

During the Junior Varsity game, Freshmen, Cia Vlangas and Emma Sanza had huge contributions to the Junior Varsity win against the Huskies. Junior Varsity swept Patterson Mill with a final score of 39-11. This was the Junior Varsity’s 9th straight win of the season.

During the Varsity game, the girls played a hard-fought game against the Huskies. Unfortunately, the girls lost by a score of 38-29.

“This was a really tough loss for our team,” says Senior Captain, Elizabeth Hillman. “This is a game we will definitely have in the back of our minds and we will have to push ourselves even more in practice if we want to get better.”

Then, on Monday, January 22, the Bobcats played at Bel Air to play Our Lady of Good Counsel. Unfortunately, both teams lost with a score of 46-29 for Junior Varsity, and 71-43 for Varsity. Varsity leaders include Junior, Grace Wehland with 12 points, Senior, Elizabeth Hillman with 7 points, and Sophomore, Maggi Hall and Junior, Autumn Dougherty with 6 points each.

“This was a great game for us to experience. We played our hearts out and did everything we could to compete against a great team,” says Sophomore, Maggi Hall.
