Girls’ Basketball Beats Cougars, Falls to Cobras

On Thursday, January 25, 2018, the Junior Varsity and Varsity Girls’ basketball team traveled to Fallston High School to play the Cougars. Junior Varsity and Varsity both defeated the Cougars.

It was intense throughout the whole game for the Junior Varsity team. The Bobcats and Cougars were tied at the end of the fourth quarter and went into overtime. Fortunately, the Cats’ put up some points and were able to win with a score of 34-32.

In the Varsity game, leaders include Senior, Julia Henry with 15 points and 2 steals, Junior, Grace Wehland with 7 points, 12 rebounds and 3 steals, Sophomore, Olivia Simon with 6 points and 4 rebounds, and Senior, Elizabeth Hillman with 5 points, 3 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists. The girls won with a score of 38-32.

“This was a really good win for our team. We didn’t give up and played hard until the buzzer, and that’s why we were able to pull out this win,” says Freshman, Cia Vlangas.

Then, on Monday, January 29, 2018, the Bobcats played at Bel Air against the Cobras of Harford Tech. Junior Varsity lost with a close score of 37-34 and Varsity also lost with a score of 37-24.

“This was a tough loss for us. We came one rally short, but I think we’ll be ready for then come Thursday,” says Senior Captain, Julia Henry.

The Cats will hope to rebound from their most recent loss as the season continues.
