On Saturday, February 3 2018, the Bel Air High School Varsity Cheerleaders competed in the Thomas Johnson Invitational as their second Invitational of the winter season.

The girls competed at 11:55 am as the last team of the day. The teams competing were Northwood, Wilde Lake, South Carroll, Middletowm, South Hagerstown, Oakland Mills, Severna Park, Magruder, Resevoir, Eastern Tech, and Bel Air. The Bel Air Varsity team placed first.

The Varsity Bobcats competed at Thomas Johnson High School in Fredrick Maryland. With the girls hitting their routine, they were all hoping for first place out of 11 teams. The Bobcats hit all their stunts and tumbling had no mistakes.

“I am so happy we won! We had a rough week with some of the girls on our team being sick and I am so happy we pulled through. I never doubted these girls once, and I am so proud of each and every one of them for putting their all into our routine this weekend.” said Madison Humes.

With the girls scoring over 100 points, they came out on top! They received a banner to hang up in Bel Air High School for placing in first. For Seniors, Ketsia Tshibangu, Abby Slater, Camden Creighton, Alexis Webster, and Olivia Benton this was their last invitational.

“I will miss all the seniors when they go off to college! But I am excited to take the mat with them at counties and hopefully states!” said Emily May.
