On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, the Junior Varsity and Varsity Girls’ Basketball teams traveled to C. Milton Wright High School to play the Mustangs. Junior Varsity took another win, and Varsity fell short of a victory.

The Bobcats knew this would be a tough game to play against their rival school, so they had to play hard. With key contributors like Freshman, Emma Sanza and Cia Vlangas, the JV Bobcats got the job done and swept the Mustangs with a score of 30-20.

During the Varsity game, Junior, Bailey Springer and Sophomore, Maggi Hall led the Bobcats with 8 points each, Senior, Julia Henry with 7 points, and Sophomore, McKenna Reiswig with 5 points. Unfortunately, the Cats fell to the Mustangs with a score of 59-35.

“This was a game that we definitely could’ve won,” says Senior Captain, Julia Henry. “We know what we did wrong and we just have to fix a couple of little things to be ready for them next time.”

Then, on Thursday, January 18, 2018, the Lady Cats’ play on their home court against the Aberdeen Eagles. The Junior Varsity team caught yet another win with a score of 40-17, capturing their 10th win of the season. Varsity’s leaders included Senior, Elizabeth Hillman and Junior, Bailey Springer with 12 points each, and Sophomore, McKenna Reiswig with 8 points, but the Varsity girls ultimately lost to the Eagles with a score of 44-34.

“This was a very intense game to play. We always have things we can work on, but I think we’re in a really good position moving forward in the season,” says Senior, Elizabeth Hillman.
