Indoor Track at CCBC

On Friday, January 5 2018, Bel Air Indoor Track competed at CCBC for their 3rd Essex Meet. At this meet, Bel Air competed in 12 competitions.

Junior, Kurt Nolasco placed 7th in the 55-meter dash with a personal record time of 7.32. Freshman, Caitlyn Graney had a time of 8.47, also a personal record, and placed 6th. Junior, Carolyn Klein placed 15th with a personal record time of 8.74. Senior, Lydia Cross placed 5th for 55-meter hurdles with a school record time of 10.19 and Senior, Sophie Knott placed 9th with a personal record time of 10.66.

“My 55 felt great, but I know I can go even faster than that. Props to the guys at the other schools, they really pushed me harder than usual. I’m excited to see what the rest of this season has in store for us.” says Kurt Nolasco.

Senior, Adam Keh placed 7th for shot put with a personal record score of 28-09.25. Freshman, Lillian Smith placed 3rd with a personal record score of 25-02.25. Kurt Nolasco placed 8th in the 300 meters race with a personal record time of 43.15. Bryson Foye placed 9th with a personal record time of 43.15. Erin Brown placed 11th with a personal record time of 50.55. Brenton Duvall came in 2nd in the 500 meters race with a personal record time of 1:13.40. Ava Goeller came in 6th with a personal record time of 1:32.54. Ethan Gray came in 1st in the 800 Meters race with a school record time of 2:12.71. Rebekah Cross came in 4th with a personal record time of 2:40.59.

Ethan Gray came in 3rd for 1600 meters with a personal record time of 4:51.10 for the Men’s team, and Riley McDermott came in 10th with a personal record time of 6: 07.58. For the 3200 meters race, Nick Hammond placed 10th with a personal record time of 11:35.47 for Men’s. Kylie Mika placed 3rd for Womens’ with a personal record time of 14:08.10.

“It was a good race for coming off break. There was competition to push off from and I was able to finish with 4:51 1600 on a small track. I hope to better my time for indoor as we move into the post season!” says Ethan Gray.

Bel Air’s Mens’ team placed 3rd and 8th and Women’s placed 3rd and 7th for the 4×160 Relay. Brenton Duvall, Bryson Foye, Kurt Nolasco, and Andrew Plowman placed 3rd with a time of 1:23.94. Kyle Gavin, Adam Keh, Josh Murrell and Sanjay Sethi placed 8th with a time of 1:35.36. Paige Blaker, Ava Goeller, Caitlyn Graney, and Sophie Knott placed 3rd with a time of 1:36.33. Lydia Cross, Carolyn Klein, Mackenzie Plowman, and Heather Wheeler placed 7th with a time of 1:42.14.

For the 4×400 relay, the men’s team placed 5th and 9th, the women’s team placed 3rd and 7th. Brenton Duvall, Bryson Foye, Kurt Nolasco, and Andrew Plowman came in 5th with a time of 4:00.41. Kyle Gavin, Matthew Reynolds, Sanjay Sethi, and  Cameron Sylvester came in 9th with a time of 4:46.99.  Paige Blaker, Ava Goeller, Caitlyn Graney, and Annalena Knott placed 3rd with a time of 4:45.11. Carolyn Klein, Molly Klein, Riley McDermott, and Mackenzie Plowman placed 7th with a time of 5:11.22.

“Even though it was our last day of the race and we were all worn out, we worked really hard to overcome that and to push to be our best. I’m really proud of how everything played out,” says Sophomore, Ava Goeller.

The Men’s team placed 3rd and 7th and the Women’s team placed 2nd and 5th for the 4×800 relay. Brenton Duvall, Nick Hammond, Andrew Plowman, and Caleb Zylka placed 3rd with a time of 8:54.18. Taylor Farnsworth, Joshua Phillips, Cameron Sylvester, and Josh Zylka placed 7th with a time of 10:21.01. Paige Blaker, Rebekah Cross, Ava Goeller, and Riley McDermott placed 2nd with a time of 11:05.41. Katherine Ausmus, Hailey Colt, Katie DiLeonardi, and Aimee Sylvester placed 5th with a time of 11:50.38.
