On Thursday, December 21 2017 and Wednesday, January 3 2017, the Boys’ Varsity Basketball team went up against Harford Christian at home and Rising Sun away for their sixth and seventh games of the season. They lost their game against Harford Christian, but were able to take home their first win of the season against Rising Sun.

First, the team went up against Harford Christian. Both teams had not won a game yet, so both teams knew the stakes were high. After a long and exciting game with plays from Brandon Kestner, Kieran McDermott, Zach Liberto and more, the team fell just short of taking the win, finishing the game with a score of 66-60.

Next, the team went against Rising Sun for their seventh game of the season. With their 0-6 record, the team desperately wanted to take the win. After an intense game that ended with Hunter Hruz scoring the game winning point at the end, the team was finally able to win with a score of 52-50, giving them their first win of the season.

“I’m really glad we were finally able to take the win. We have been practicing really hard all season, and I’m glad it was able to pay off”, said Varsity player, Brandon Kestner.

The team’s next game is home against Elkton. Elkton currently has a 4-3 record, so it is going to be an intense game. The team is going in to defend their 1-6 record.

“I am really glad they were finally able to win. The team has a lot of potential and it was nice to see it pay off”, said Varsity Girls player, Mckenna Reiswig.

The next game is against Elkton at Bel Air High School in the gym. Junior Varsity plays at 5:15 pm and Varsity at 3:30 pm. Make sure to be there to support your school and the team’s hard work. Go Bobcats!
