Girls’ Basketball Triumphs Over the Rams and Cougars

On Wednesday, December 20, 2017, the Girls’ Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball teams played at Edgewood High School against the Rams. Junior Varsity won with a score of 44-16 and Varsity won with a score of 64-19.

This was the conference opener for the Bobcats, and they were ready to fight hard and battle for another win. Freshmen, Cia Vlangas with 16 points, and Emma Sanza with 13 points had huge contributions to the Junior Varsity win by scoring more than half of the total points for the Bobcats.

During the Varsity game, Junior, Autumn Dougherty scored 13 points, Sophomore, Maggi Hall scored 11 points, and Sophomore, McKenna Reiswig scored 9 points, which led the Bobcats to their fourth straight win.

“We’ve been doing really well during gameplay, and I’m proud of the way the team has done. I think we can do even better and I’m confident in my team that we can do it,” says Sophomore, Maggi Hall.

Then, on Monday, January 2, 2018, both teams came back from their winter break to play their next game at Bel Air against the Fallston Cougars.

Junior Varsity and Varsity both came in strong during this game and were both able to clench another win. Junior Varsity won with a score of 44-25 and Varsity won with a score of 52-32. Senior, Elizabeth Hillman and Junior, Autumn Dougherty both scored 11 points, and Junior, Grace Wehland scored 9 points.

“The team played so well this game, and I’m glad we got another win. Even though we haven’t had many practices, I think we adjusted right and still played well together to get this win,” says Senior, Elizabeth Hillman.

The Bobcats will hope to continue their winning ways as the new year rolls on.
