All Runners Set Personal Records at First Indoor Track Meet

On Friday, December 8, 2017 Bel Air Indoor Track competed at the Community College of Baltimore County for the first meet at Essex.

Both, the Bel Air Boys’ and Grils’ Varsity teams competed against Chesapeake BC, Dulaney, Dundalk, John Carroll, Maryvale Prep, North East, North Harford, Fallston, Francis Scott Key, Harford Tech, Havre de Grace, Perryville, The Catholic High, Towson, and Westminster in the following events: the 55 Meter Dash, 300 Meters, 500 Meters, 800 Meters, 1600 Meters, 3200 Meters, 4×160 Relay, 4×400 Relay, 55M Hurdles, and the 4×800 Relay.

For the Men’s team, Junior Kurt Nolasco was first of Bel Air to finish the 55 Meter Dash, 7.44a, and the 300 Meters,43.77a, both being personal records. Senior, Bryson Foye shortly came after for the 300 Meters with a time of 44.26a. Senior, Ethan Gray came in 3rd for the 500 Meters with a time of 1:16.92a and Josh Murrell came in 4th for the 800 Meters with a time of 2:23.32a. Andrew Plowman came in 1st for the 1600 Meters with a time of 5:06.35a and Caleb Zylka came in 1st for the 3200 Meters with a time of 11:00.97a.

“I’m very happy with how we started the season. The Senior class is leaving behind a great mark for the team already. I see lots of potential for all of the new runners this season,” said Ethan Gray.

For the Women’s team, Heather Wheeler came in 37th for the 55 Meter Dash with a time of 9.18a and Ava Goeller came in 5th for the 300 Meters with a time of 47.53a. Ava also came 12th for the 500 Meters with a time of 1:35.19a. Katherine Ausmus came in 10th for the 800 Meters with a time of 2:48.50a and Rebekah Cross came in 3rd for the 1600 Meters with a time of 6:00.87a. Shelby Hay came in 6th place for the 3200 Meters with a time of 13:53.744a and Lydia Cross came in 7th place for the 55m Hurdles with a time of 10.35a and it was a season record.

“The girls ran very well and the handoffs in the Relays were very good,” said Ally Wagner.

Everyone at this meet got a personal record which is a great start to the season. Come out and support the Bel Air indoor winter track teams at their next meet which is Friday, December 15 at the Community College of Baltimore County for the second Essex Meet.
