On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, the Boys’ Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball teams went to Fallston High School for their first game of the 2017-2018 season. Junior Varsity was able to take the win, but Varsity could not.

Junior Varsity played first at 5:15 pm. The team consists of a mix between new and returning players. Some key players in the game were Justin O’Bannon, Jordan Reiswig, Mason Bosley, as well as a few others. The final score of the game was 35-32 with the Bobcats taking the win thanks to Sophomore Caden Morris who scored the last few points of the game.

“I am really glad we were able to win in our first game. I am really looking forward to the season and it was nice to be able to start it out on a high note”, said Junior Varsity player Jaymes Carrier.

Varsity played later in the evening at 6:45 pm. This was the team’s first game with its new and returning players. Some new players included Freshmen Brandon Kestner and Jaiden Jakubowski, Juniors Josh Stocum, Michael Nicol, Zach Liberto, Ray Burrows and Hunter Hruz. The team had some returning faces this year, which include Seniors, Terrell Brown, Cameron Kalandros, Kieran McDermott, Josh Munley, Spencer Sanza, Abe Sayihe and Connor smith. Unfortunately, the team was not able to secure a victory in their first game, losing to the Fallston Cougars with a score of 63-33.

The teams are trying to achieve or surpass their record from their 2016-2017 season. Last year, Varsity finished their season with a record of 10-10. Junior Varsity had a great season with a record of 16-4.

“It’s too bad that we lost, but I am still really excited for what the season has in store and we just have to keep practicing”, said Varsity player, Brandon Kestner.
