Cross Country Places 2nd for Both Boys and Girls

On Thursday, November 2, 2017, Bel Air’s Cross Country team went to Towson High School to compete at the MPSSAA 3A North Region Championships against C. Milton Wright, Towson, Franklin, Aberdeen, Edgewood, Lansdowne, Dundalk and Milford Mill.

At this race, Bel Air placed 2nd for boys with a score of 46. Kieran McDermott placed 1st overall with a time of 15:42. There were 2 personal records and one season record. Andrew Plowman, 9th place, and Brenton Duvall, 14th place, both had personal records. Nick Hammond placed 19th with a season record time of 17:42.

“Everyone did a great job at this race and I am so excited for States!” says Kieran McDermott.

Bel air placed 2nd for girls as well with a score of 56. Rebekah Cross placed 4th but was the first from Bel Air to finish with a personal record time of 19:55. There were a total of 4 personal records. Rebekah Cross, 4th place, Paige Blaker, 15th place, Lauren LeDonne, 19th place, and Caroline Fallace, 22nd place. There were no season records at this race.

“I am very proud of everyone’s times and placements, I am so happy and excited for states!” says Rebekah Cross.

The Bel Air Cross Country team will be competing at Hereford High School for States on November 11th, 2017. The team has had an amazing season so far and will hope to continue their success heading into the final meet of the season.
