On Tuesday, October 24, 2017, the Sports for Life Bocce Ball Tournament took place at the Bel Air High School stadium from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Every high school in Harford County participated in this tournament. This includes Aberdeen, Bel Air, C. Milton Wright, Edgewood, Fallston, Harford Tech, Havre De Grace, Joppatowne, North Harford, Patterson Mill and John Archer.

“The students look forward to having their parents come and to interact with peers from other schools. It is always a great event that anyone is welcome to come watch.” said Mrs. Denae Clark, the Bel Air coach.

Bel Air’s team roster included students: Jacob Folmer, Ryan Snyder, Phillip Loftus, Bingham Toddeo, Brandon Snyder, Abbey Collins, Jake Smith, Brandon Lai, Adam Lockett, Anthony Boebel, Hannah Tucci, Kathryn Hotem, Victoria VanBeek, Kerlin Ortega, Briana Merritt, and Brooke Kelly.

The team had been practicing since September 19, 2017. The coaches for Bel Air were teachers Mrs. Workman, Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Forster.

“The athletes were well prepared, and parents enjoyed watching the competition.” said Kay Lambert, the adaptive physical education specialist at John Archer School.

The tournament was purely for fun and to encourage healthy living habits, meaning there was no specific ranking system amongst participants. However, scores where still recorded, and are listed below.
