Boys’ Volleyball Spikes Down the Cobras and the Cougars

On Monday and Tuesday, October 16 and 17, 2017, the Boys’ Junior Varsity and Varsity Volleyball teams sparked up two wins as they both took down Harford Tech and Fallston.

Varsity was able to take the win in both games. They had played a close game against Fallston, but were able to win the game with a score of 3-2. Fallston and Bel Air had battled it out having Bel Air win the first and third sets, and losing the second and fourth, but we were able to win the game over in the final set, giving them the win.

It was a less competitive game for our Varsity team against Tech, with them winning the game with a score of 3-0. The team had excellent plays from players Andrew Sunday, Evan Thatcher, Spencer Sanza, and more! The team now has a superb record of 11-1, giving them the best record in the county.

“It was a very close and stressful game against Fallston. It was scary seeing them go to five sets, but it was nice that we took the win. Tech on the other hand was not as scary because we had won the game pretty quickly”, said Boys Volleyball manager, Angel Whitaker.

Junior Varsity took home victories in both games as well. They lost the first set against Fallston, but had come back and won the second two, giving them the win with a score of 2-1.

On Tuesday, the Junior Varsity team went up against Harford Tech for their eleventh game of the season. Previously, they had lost to the Cobras with a score of 2-1 so they knew they had competition. They came in with lots of energy and were able to beat Harford Tech in both sets, giving them a score of 2-0.

“We had played an awesome two games. We came in confident for both so it was cool that we were able to beat Tech in two sets, given that we had lost to them last time”, said Junior Varsity player, Brandon Kestner.

Come out and support our Bobcats Volleyball teams at their next and final game on Monday, October 23, 2017 as they take on Aberdeen at Bel Air. This game is the last game before playoffs and it is Senior night so it is important to watch. Junior Varsity plays at 5:00 P.M. and Varsity is at 6:30 P.M. Go Bobcats!
