Cross Country Places 2nd in Chesapeke Division Championships

On Wednesday, October 4, 2017 Bel Air’s Cross Country teams raced at Patterson Mill and C. Milton Wright for the Chesapeake Division Championships, Bel Air placed 2nd with a score of 64 for boys and 51 for girls against Bohemian Manor, C. Milton Wright, Fallston, Patterson Mill, and North Harford.

Twelfth grader, Kieran McDermott was first of the boys for Bel Air to finish, and placed 1st with a time of 16:08.9. Junior, Faith Loftus was first of the girls to finish for Bel Air, but placed 5th with a time of 20:48.1.

“The course was nice and fast, but the woods section was tough, especially with spikes. We came through tough,” said Varsity Manager Bryson Foye.

Everyone ran a great race at this meet, although Bel Air did not come in first for either boys or girls. At this meet, all of Bel Airs boys finished in less than 20 minutes and girls in less than 24 minutes.  

Bryson also commented, “A lot of runners achieved their personal records in this meet, everyone ran hard.”

There was one personal record for boys and it was that of Twelfth grader, Ethan Gray with a time of 16:55.2, but there were no personal records for girls. There were no season records for either boys or girls.

Be sure to come and support Bel Air at the Harford Invite, Tuesday, October 17 at C. Milton Wright HS. This meet is 5,000 meters for both Junior Varsity and Varsity, boys and girls. Bel Air will be racing against C. Milton Wright, Harford Tech, Fallston, Havre de Grace, Patterson Mill, North Harford, Joppatowne, and Edgewood.
