Boys’ Volleyball Falls to C. MIlton in First Loss of the Season

Jack Thompson

On Wednesday, October 11, the Bel Air Boys’ JV and Varsity Volleyball teams went to C. Milton Wright High School for their 9th and 10th games of the season.  The teams were both just short of the win with Junior Varsity losing 2-1 and Varsity losing 3-2.

Junior Varsity played a close game by losing the first set at 25-20, winning the second at 25-21, and losing the third set with a score of 15-8. They played a very tough game and were just short of the win in the final set. They now have a record of 4-5.

Varsity played a very long and exciting game that went to all five sets. They won the second and third sets, but were short of the win in the first, fourth and final sets, costing them the win and an ending their undefeated season.

Both teams had excellent plays during every set. During the Junior Varsity game, there were many great plays from players such as Jacob Harris, Sean Conway, Drew Bosnak and more. Varsity had fantastic plays from their entire team. Some key players include Andrew Sunday, Evan Thatcher and Joel Duzan.

“It’s too bad that we lost but both teams played excellent games. We definitely could have beaten them I just think that they got in our heads and that cost us the win”, said Junior Varsity player, Brandon Kestner.

Varsity now has a record of 9-1 and although they are no longer undefeated, they still have the most wins in the county. Both teams are playing great this season, and both still have three regular season games left.

“It was a really intense and close game, and I am really upset that we weren’t able to win”, said the Boys’ Volleyball manager, Angel Whitaker.
