The Bel Air Girls’ Lacrosse Team won two dominant games last week against Patterson Mill on Tuesday, April 4, and Perryville on Thursday, April 6. The team took down cross-town rivals Patterson Mill by a score of 19-4, and they dominated against Perryville with a score of 21-0.

The Bobcats went into halftime with a 10-1 lead over Patterson Mill, led by two goals from both junior Julia Henry and freshman Ava Goeller, and single goals from senior captains Anna Farley and Lexi Strobel, juniors Lauren Asher and Elizabeth Hillman, and freshmen Maggi Hall and Anna McQuay. In the second half, the team came out just as strong as they did in the first half, and were led in scoring by Henry and Hall, both scoring two goals apiece. Patterson Mill scored one goal in the first half and three goals in the second half, making the final score 19-4.

“It was a great win against Patterson Mill since they are a big rival,” says Henry. “It was also a very beneficial game because everyone got to touch the ball and our team chemistry grew, which is always an important aspect of the game. I’m excited to see how much our team grows because we have a ton of potential.”

The Bobcats played a very strong game against Perryville. The Bobcats were led in scoring by Henry with four goals, followed by three goals from Hall, two goals from Farley, and two goals from juniors Caroline Fallace and Keeley McHugh. There were multiple players that scored one goal apiece, including seniors Kami Holt and Strobel, juniors Sam Stachowiak, Hailey Colt and Asher, sophomores Grace Wehland and Jenna Ranney, and Goeller. They went into halftime leading by a score of 13-0, and scored eight goals in the second half making the final score 21-0.

“The entire team kept excellent composure and played with great lax IQ,” Strobel explains. “We took the opportunity to productively work on our weaknesses as we’re in the process of preparing for our next game. It’s a great feeling to know that each player on our team contributed to both of our most recent wins. We played with unselfish attitudes and confidence which most certainly benefitted our play on the field.”  Go Bobcats!
