On Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, the Bel Air Girls’ Volleyball Team took on the Fallston Cougars in their first game of the season.
The Bobcats took a big loss in this game, with the Cougars defeating them 3-0. This game really opened the team’s eyes, showing them their strengths and weaknesses, and what they needed to improve upon for their next match.
The ladies played hard, trying to keep up intensity and team spirit throughout the game. They plan to keep that upbeat, positive attitude going in their future matches, along with improving the skills that were tested in the opener.
“It’s always tough to lose, especially to Fallston.” Says Konner- Ashley Randlett, senior middle hitter for the Cats. “I’m proud of our team for not getting discourage and I hope the best for us throughout the season. We look forward to showing them how hard we can play at our annual dig pink game coming up this October.”
Freshman Olivia Simon had a great game with minimal errors in her serving, setting, and hitting. She’s proved that she will be able to continue to contribute to the team this season.
“It feels really good to have a strong game.” Says Simon. “I love helping the team succeed and keeping everyone positive.”
The girls hope to bring this can-do attitude into all of their future games, while also working to improve their skills as the season progresses.
