On Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, the Boys’ Varsity Volleyball Team had their home opener against the Aberdeen Bald Eagles.
The Bobcats swept the Bald Eagles in 3 sets, helping them kick off the season with a 1-0 record. The boys dominated the first set with a final score of 25-17.
The second set caused some trouble for the Bobcats, as Aberdeen put up a fight, scoring 21 points. The team, however, stayed strong, in the end taking the second set with a score of 25-21. In order to procure the win for the team, all Bel Air needed was to come out on top of their final set against Aberdeen.
“We came out strong in the first set,” says Junior Alex Andrews. “We Struggled a little in the second set, but quickly bounced back and won that set too.”
The Bobcats played hard in the third set, in the end, taking it by a score of 25-20, winning their home opener and starting out their season 1-0.
“This is a great way to start off the year,” Andrews states. “Hopefully we can carry our momentum over to our next game.”
The Boys’ Varsity Volleyball Team will be traveling to North Harford on Wednesday, Sept. 14, to face the North Harford Hawks. Wish them luck!
