On Wednesday, April 4, Bel Air Varsity Baseball faced off against the North Harford Hawks at home.

The game was mainly a competitive defensive battle between the two teams; the bats did not start to heat up for either team until late in the game.

North Harford struck first in the second inning to give them a 1-0 lead. The Bobcats bounced right back in the bottom of the fourth as they put up 2 runs of their own to give them a 2-1 lead.

“We were right with North Harford for the most part of the game but we just came up short at the end,” said Sophomore Cameron Kalandros

At the top of the sixth, the Hawks put up 4 runs to give them a lead of 6-2, but the Bobcats bounced right back putting up 4 runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth. With the game all tied up at 6, the Hawks managed to put up two runs to hand the Bobcats their first loss of the season.

“We made a few mistakes in the game and that’s what cost us. We hope to move forward and not make the same mistakes we did” said Kalandros.

The Bobcats first loss puts them 5-1 for the season thus far.
