“It’s always nice to get that first win and and to see how well the team works together in a game. I’d say the team is playing like we’re already mid-season, we just have to get our bats going a little more. We’re gelling pretty well as a team for sure!” shared Senior Captain Savannah Meyers.

The girls continued on to play John Carroll, beating the Patriots 4-2 in 7 innings. Sophomore pitcher Amanda Criss finished the game with 8 strike outs and gave up only 2 hits. Junior Morgan Dvorak finished the game with a double and a single along with 1 RBI. Sophomore Amanda Criss, Sophomore Gwen Markowski, and Freshman Ari Dramis all had RBI singles.

Runs by inning proceeded as: 2 in the 1st, 1 in the 3rd, and 1 in the 5th.

“We played really solid defense which is going to be critical for us to do each game,” explained Senior Captain Savannah Meyers. “If we play defense the way we did against John Carroll then we should be well off this season.”

The girls’ next game is against Rising Sun High School right here on the Bel Air varsity field at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30. We hope to see plenty of Bel Air supporters cheering on the team!
