On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 19-20, 2016, the Bel Air Wrestling team competed in the UCBAC tournament at Edgewood High School. The Bobcats came out on top with 227.50 points with a 79.00 point lead over the second place team, Patterson Mill.

Many of the Bel Air Wrestlers placed in their weight class. The top placers are as follows:

106 lbs – Freshman Brent Lorin in 1^st place

120 lbs – Sophomore Zach Alascio in 5^th place

126 lbs – Freshman Jacob Reed in 2^nd place

132 lbs – Senior Tyler Ham in 4^th place

145 lbs – Sophomore Liam Bowers in 2^nd place

152 lbs – Junior Scott Miser in 1^st place

160 lbs – Senior Captain Trevor Proctor in 3^rd place

170 lbs – Junior Sam Queen in 4^th place

182 lbs – Junior Tommy Gomez in 1^st place

220 lbs – Senior Captain Dakota Crawford in 1^st place

285 lbs – Freshman Jack Brink in 5^th place

Gomez said, “”In my opinion, this year was our most dominating year we have had as a team. We had 11 of 14 guys qualify for regionals, and 4 out of 6 guys we had in the finals won. We are becoming an overall powerhouse of the state and hope to continue this into next year and years to come.”

Next, the Bobcats will compete in the Regional tournament at North East High School on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26-27, 2016. Come out and support your Bobcats!
