On Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 Bel Air faced C. Milton Wright for Senior Night and won 54-49. On Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 our Lady Bobcats played against North Harford High School and won 45-38.

The Bobcats finished the first half with 19 points with C. Milton barely in the lead with 25 points. Senior Anna Puntanen led the team scoring 13 points over the course of the game, followed by Senior Anna Wehland scoring 12 points. The girls came back in the second half scoring 35 points to C. Milton’s 24 points.

“We played outstanding defensively, and generated enough offense to get the win. The most important thing going into this game was to be able to handle the pressure they put on the ball, we knew we had to be careful. We have grown as a group since the last time we played C. Milton and I think that showed tonight. Our Seniors were composed, smart, and really led us to victory,” shared Head Coach Skelton.

The girls came out strong against North Harford, scoring 30 points to North Harford’s 21 points. Senior Rebekah Riley led the team scoring 13 points over the course of the game. Coming back in the second half, Bel Air scored 15 points slightly behind North Harford’s 17 points. The girls finished the game with a score of 45-38 reining in Head Coach Skeltons 100th win as Varsity Coach!

“We played suffocating defense and efficient offense, we could have been a bit smarter, we let them back in once we had them beaten, but we finished with a win. Our biggest accomplishment was reaching the point where I believe we are playing at, or near, our potential. We use our potential as a measuring stick and if we win games in the process, that’s great, too. When I took this job I never thought about winning 100 games, it felt great to reach a milestone like that! It’s been a pleasure to be able to say I’ve worked with the caliber of kids that I have over the last 10 years,” explained Head Coach Skelton.

Our Varsity Lady Bobcats finished the normal season with a record of 9-3 and now await for word of plays offs. We hope to see plenty of Bobcat fans supporting the girls throughout the last leg of their season!
