On Monday, Feb. 8, the Boys Varsity Hockey Team traveled to Bowie to face off against the Arundel Wildcats in a playoff matchup.

Bel Air already played this team twice, defeating Arundel both times. However, Arundel dominated the first period putting up many shots and playing a hard, physical game. By the end of the first period, the wildcats had put up 3 goals to give them a 3-0 lead going into the second period.

Arundel continued to play the way they did in the first period as they put up 3 more goals to give them a 6-0 lead at the end of the second period. The Bobcats were digging their own graves.

“We came in too confident. We thought that we would beat them, considering we beat them 2 times in a row, but they came ready to play,” said Sophomore Evan Bergquist.

In the third period, the Bobcats started to come to life with a goal from Freshman Brandon Javier, but the Bobcats dug too deep of a hole to get out of. The Bobcats season comes to an end with a final score of 6-1.

“It was tough loss for us. We came in too confident and they ended up beating us pretty bad,” said Coach Dave Frongillo.

The Bobcats regular season may be over, but they still have two more non-league games against the Fallston Cougars.
