On Friday, Feb. 5, the Boys’ Varsity Ice Hockey team faced off against the Arundel Wildcats.

The first period was very physical with lots of penalties for both teams. Junior Keith Gorschboth struck first with a nice wrist shot by the blue line to put the Bobcats up 1-0.

At the end of the 1st period, the score was 1-0, Bobcats. The second period was all Bel Air as they put up 3 more goals from Senior Colin Dean and Sophomore Evan Bergquist. The Wildcats scored late in the second period but were still trailing by 3. At the end of the second period, the score was 4-1 Bobcats.

“We really came to life in second period. We outplayed Arundel and we took control of the game” said Sophomore Evan Bergquist.

The Bobcats continued to dominate the game as they put up 2 more goals from Junior Joe Frongillo and Sophomore Evan Bergquist again, to complete his hat-trick. Arundel scored late, but it would not matter as the Bobcats were too far ahead. The Bobcats took this one with a 6-2 victory.

“We played with great effort and didn’t stop playing until the final whistle,’’ said Coach Dave Frongillo

Another win for Bel Air as they look to finish their season with another handful of wins.
