On Monday, Dec. 21, the Bel Air Bobcats Varsity Ice Hockey team traveled to Navy to face off against the Broadneck Bruins.

The Bruins got right to work on the Bobcats judging by the speedy six goals shot just in the first period. In the second period, Broadneck continued their dominance putting in 3 more goals, raising the score to 9-0.

The Bobcats finally got one of their own from Junior Keith Gorbstbosh. At the end of the second period, the Bruins had a commanding lead of 9-1.

“We weren’t ready in the first period and they took advantage of us early. From there, we just fell apart,” said Freshman Goalie Cole Frado.

In the third period, the Bobcats worked and skated hard but it was not enough to comeback from an 8 goal deficit. The final score was 9-1, Broadneck.

“We weren’t prepared enough to play the number 1 team in the state and they ended up beating us harsd,” said Coach Dave Frongillo.

The Bobcats emerge from winter break with a record of 2-2-0.
