On Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, our Varsity Lady Bobcats faced the Lions from Liberty High School and lost 54-33. On Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 Bel Air played Perry Hall and lost 48-40.

In the game against Liberty Hall, Bel Air had a rough start having a turnover total of 28 and a final score of 33. Senior Julie Bernoski led the team scoring 14 points throughout the game.

“It was good for our team, especially the young players to learn how fast a varsity game is and to see how skillful one must be to be successful. Our turnover total was 28 and as a team we do our best to never have a number that high. This is just one loss, this game won’t make or break us, we are just beginning our journey,” shared Head Coach Skelton on the game against Liberty High.

The game against Perry Hall brought better luck for the Bobcats, this time only losing by eight points. The team stepped up defensively during the game but fell short offensively, missing a number of free throws and lay ups. Senior Julie Bernoski led the game once more, scoring 17 points throughout the game. With a half time score of 14-24 the girls continued on to score another 26 points.

“The team was outstanding defensively and took a big step towards being a better team. Offensively, we missed enough free throws and lays ups to win the game, and our communication needs to be improved. For our next game we need to do a better job of executing the game plan more efficiently,” Commented Head Coach Skelton on the teams’ performance against Perry Hall.

The girls’ next game is home against Edgewood High School on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015 at 6:45 p.m. We hope to see plenty of Bel Air supporters in the stands, go Bobcats!
