Boys’ Basketball Preview

Aidan Lake

Bel Air Varsity Boys Basketball is returning to the court for the 2015-16 season, for which there are new faces and high expectations.

Head Coach Alex Darko is ready to make his debut as first season head coach, planning to lead the boys to a successful season. The Bobcats are ready to bounce back after last year’s 6-13 season.

They will be counting on returning starters and some key newcomers that are expected to make a splash and secure this team a state title.

The team is expecting its Juniors and Seniors to help carry the load this season. Returning players like Michael Yetter, Josh Beeker, Jahari Carmichael, and Jake Vazquez are veterans, knowing what it takes to get to the top.

Bel Air is looking forward to seeing what some new players can contribute to this team’s success. Players like Finn Gottschalk, John Scott, Will Pickney and Devin Anderson have their work cut out for them and know what they need to do to accomplish their goals.

The Bobcats know they have a tough road ahead, but believe they can overcome it and lock up a winning season. Junior Michael Yetter commented: “We’re looking to compete and win a lot of games this year, but we have to work hard because of our difficult schedule.”

Your Varsity Bobcats are set to tip off the 2015-16 season this Monday, Dec. 7 at Perry Hall to take on the Gators. Make the trip this Friday and support Varsity Boys Basketball!
