On Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, the Bel Air Cross Country Team ran in the UCBAC Championships at Tollgate Park. The boys’ team placed third and the girls’ team placed second.

To no surprise, the boys’ team was led by Sophomore Kieran McDermott in second place with a time of 16:26. Behind McDermott was Senior Captain Austin Weiss with a time of 17:12 in twelfth place, and Sophomore Ethan Gray with a time of 17:20 in sixteenth place.

The girls’ team was led by Senior Morgan Smith in seventh place with a time of 20:28. Closely following Smith was Sophomore Paige Blaker in fourteenth place with a personal record time of 21:22 and Senior Captain Joy Hayward in twenty third place with a personal record time of 21:47.

After the awards were given, Smith said, “I think we did fantastic and the girls’ team ran very well overall. I am so proud of all of them and I hope we can keep this up for regionals!”

The MPSSAA 4A North Region Championships will take place on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at Dulaney High School. Come out and support your Bobcats!
