Bel Air Football defeats C. Milton Wright

On Friday, Oct. 9, the Bel Air Bobcats took on their crosstown rivals, the C. Milton Wright Mustangs, and came away with a victory in a hard fought defensive battle, pushing the Bobcats’ record to 5-1.

The Mustangs kicked the ball deep to the Bobcats to get the game started, and the high powered Bel Air offense took over at their own 29-yard line. The Bobcats drove the ball well, but a fumble stalled the offense. A huge hit causing a fumble gave the ball back to Bel Air on the Mustangs’ 37-yard line.

Three plays later, Senior Evan Hulse took the ball 21-yards on the ground behind blocks by junior, Keegan McHugh, and Senior Brian Ballard.

“The blocks were there and the hole opened up right in front of me. It was nice to get on the board first, so that the momentum shifted in our favor right from the start,” said Hulse.

Big plays all night by the Bobcat defense led by senior, Dylan Robinson, and Senior Jack Jenkins held the Mustangs to only 6 points in the first half, and kept the Mustangs scoreless in the second half.

“We did a lot this week during practice to prepare for C. Milton’s offense and it really paid off. It is great to see the work that we put in during the week produced results on Friday night,” said Robinson.
