Bobcats Run From Dulaney to Fallston

On Sunday, Sept. 12, 2015, the BAHS Cross Country Team ran in the Barnhart Invitational Meet at Dulaney High School. The boys’ team placed sixth out of 21 teams and the girls’ team placed tenth.

The boys’ team was led by sophomore Kieran McDermott, who placed 21st with a time of 16:52. McDermott was followed by senior Austin Weiss in 31st place with a time of 7:17 and sophomore Ethan Gray in 35th with a time of 17:22.

The girls’ team was led by senior Joy Hayward, who placed 48th with a time of 22:47. Shortly behind her was sophomore Paige Blaker in 56th place with a time of 23:20 and junior Julia Merritt in 60th place with a time of 23:37.

Manager Annabelle Miller said, “The team persevered through the rain and the harsh conditions given to us and still ran a great race.”

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, the team ran in a meet against Fallston at Fallston High School. The boys’ team came in first and the girls’ team placed second.

The boys’ race was a three mile race, led by McDermott with a time of 17:26 in first place. Right behind him was Weiss in second place with a time of 17:36 and Gray with a time of 18:36 in third place.

The girls’ team was led by Hayward with a time of 13:31 in fourth place. Closely following her were Blaker in fifth with a time of 13:37 and Senior Morgan Smith in sixth with a time of 13:55.
Junior Lauren Davie said, “I wasn’t able to run today due to a knee injury, but it was nice to be able to watch and cheer on my teammates. I think we will go far this season.”
