On Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, the Bel Air Bobcats defeated the Perryville Panthers at their Homecoming Game with a score of 42-12. The Bobcats were led by a convoy of great performances, but none stood out more than Senior Devin Bowers. Bowers rushed for over 200 yards and scored twice in the night. He is in process of becoming the all-time leading rusher at Bel Air High School topping Juwan Singletary’s previous record. Early in the fourth quarter, Bowers broke a long run down the left sideline which pushed him over Singletary’s record and made Bowers the new leader.

“It was an amazing moment. I mentally prepared myself to break the record before the game but it was still surreal. I only have my teammates and coaches to thank for helping me achieve this unbelievable goal,” said Bowers.

It was a great homecoming win, something that hasn’t happened for the Bobcat football team in 5 years. The Bobcats are now 5-0 on the year and look to continue the undefeated record.

The Bobcats will be playing away next week at Harve de Grace High School at 7 p.m. Go Bobcats!
