Cross Country Conquers Rising Sun and Bull Run

On Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 the BAHS Cross Country team ran in a meet at Rising Sun. The Boys’ team ran against Rising Sun, Elkton and Patterson Mill and the Girls’ team ran against Rising Sun and Patterson Mill. The Boys’ team and the Girls’ team both placed second, closely behind Rising Sun.

Freshman Ethan Gray, closely followed by Junior Kyle Fallace, had the leading time for the Boys’ team. Ethan’s time was 19:59.74 and Kyle’s time was 20:00.19. They placed third and fourth. Senior Emily League had the leading time for the Girls’ team of 22:38.44 and placed first.

Sophomore Lauren Davie said, “It is always fun to run against Cecil County teams because the scores are usually very close. We ran really well and we’ll beat them next time.”

 

On Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 the Cross Country team ran in the annual Bull Run Invitational Meet at Hereford High School. Out of 27 teams, the Boys’ team came in fourth. Out of 23 teams, the Girls’ team came in tenth.

Freshman Kieran McDermott had the leading time for the Boys’ team of 18:09.0 and placed 17th. Junior Meghan Thompson had the leading time for the Girls’ team of 24:06.8 and placed 70th.

Sophomore Natalie Fell said, “Bull Run is the third hardest course on the East Coast and I think that our entire team ran really well. There were a lot of runners and I was very impressed by some of our runners’ times.”
