On Saturday, Sept. 5, Bel Air High School held their annual Bel Air Soccer Tournament inviting a variety of teams from around the Harford County area to showcase their skills.

Starting at 11 a.m., the Bobcats took on Eastern Technical High School. As the Bobcats’ season was underway, they managed to take the lead early in the first 10 minutes with a goal scored by JD Bruck, assisted by Logan Szekalski.

“We played good as a team, going into season everyone felt like we had great chemistry and it really showed while we were on the field,” says Szekalski.

With stellar defense from Bel Air, led by Captain Evan Reinhardt, the Bobcats were able to shut down Eastern Tech by preventing any solid shots and held them to no goals in the first half. Bel Air managed to capitalize in the last 4 seconds of the second half as Zach Memmo gave the Bobcats some insurance and scored the second and last goal of the game.

A 2-0 victory ended the day for Bel Air as their 7 p.m. game was cancelled and planned to be rescheduled.
