Bobcat Nation Needed to Fall the Cougars

On Friday, Nov. 8 the Bel Air High School Varsity Football Team will play the undefeated Fallston Cougars on Senior Night.

The Bobcats are coming off of back to back wins, the first came against the Patterson Mill Huskies on October 25th. The Bobcats defeated the Huskies in week 8, winning by a score of 28-7 in Bobcat Stadium. The Cats continued their winning ways last week against C. Milton Wright on Nov. 1 coming back after trailing 15-0 at halftime to win 36-34 against the Mustangs in one of the most exciting games of the season.

Fallston will enter the game on a winning streak of their own; they have won each of their last nine games. The Cougars notable wins include defeating North Harford (19-14), Aberdeen (19-14) and C. Milton Wright (55-20).

The Bobcats, who currently have a 6-3 record, are also playing this game to try and achieve their best team record in over a decade. The Bobcats have already have improved their record from last year, a decent 5-5. The Cats are also looking to get a win to possibly earn a seed in the playoffs. For this to happen, Bel Air must win, Perry Hall must beat Dundulk, and Patterson Mill must defeat Aberdeen.

Senior Captain Clay Brumbaugh said about the upcoming game, “It’s going to be a game we have to play as a team. If we play our game and put all of our effort forward, we will come out on top. This could potentially be the seniors’ last game, so everyone will be playing their hardest to make it a memorable night. We have a chance to make playoffs, and all we need to do is seize this opportunity. Bobcat Nation needs to represent, we always play better knowing we have the ‘12th man’ with us. Let’s go Bobcats!” Senior Zach Stripling, guard and linebacker, summed it up by saying, “Never count the underdog out.”

Come out to support your Bobcat Varsity Football Team in their last home game of the season. Tickets cost $5 and kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium.
