The Bel Air Bobcats’ Golf Team will be competing in the 2013 Maryland State Golf Championship at the University of Maryland College Park Golf Course. The tournament will begin with a 9:00 a.m. start time on Monday, Oct 28. Last year, Bel Air finished 6th in the state.
The Bobcats’ team for the event will consist of Team Captains; Senior Nick Loiodice and Junior Tyler Newton. Both will be competing in the Individual Competition at states as well as the team event. Loiodice placed 10th in the state last year. Junior Cody Smith will also be competing in the Individual Competition as well as in the team event, along with Senior Sam Tepelides who will only be competing in the team event.
If the team does well enough on the first day of tournament, they can qualify to compete in the second day on Wednesday, Oct 30. However, if the team doesn’t play well as a whole and misses the team cuts, the individual competitors can still compete in the second day.
Good luck to the team as they look to become State Champions for the first time in Golf Team’s history at Bel Air High School.
