Tuesday, Sept. 24, the Bobcats took part in the District 7 Championship at Chesapeake Bay Rising Sun Golf Course, the Bobcats looking to win a third straight title.
Team Captain Tyler Newton led the team to victory, as he shot an even par round of 71. Newton briefly commented on his game, “I played well.” Newton played great in all aspects, and even had a span of holes where he chipped in twice for birdie. Tyler won the individual title at the Districts, with fellow teammate Nick Loiodice shooting a 79 to come in Third for individuals. Cody Smith shot an 83 making the cut by one stroke. They all made the individual cut. The three will be heading to the 3A-4A State Championship. Since Bel Air won the event as a team, they automatically qualified for the State Championship. The 4th member from Bel Air is Sam Tepelides who carded a 92. Tepelides will be the final member of Bel Air’s squad going to States.
