Wrestling Falls in Duals, Prepare For Conference, Regionals, States

The Bel Air High School wrestling team wrestled in the Regional Duals against top seeded River Hill on Wednesday, February 6th, to earn a chance to advance to the state dual finals. Unfortunately, the Bobcats were defeated by River Hill in a close match by a final score of 39-30.

“It was an accomplishment within itself to earn a spot in the dual regional finals since only the top four of 26 teams gets to go,” said Coach Reddish. “We still have a lot of opportunities as a team to perform well in the conference, regional, and state tournaments.”

Bobcats who came out victorious were John Cross (160), William Holder-Moore (182), and David Reagan (106). Matches were won by forfeit by Brady Stafford and Connor Nash in the 120 and 126 weight classes.

Coach Reddish believes the season is long from over due to the fact of the high possibility of individual wrestlers advancing into the state finals.

“John Cross and William Holder-Moore are top guys this year and should both be in contention to wrestle in the state finals,” said Coach Reddish. “Other guys like Brady Stafford, David Reagan, Cameron Watts, and Cyler Crawford also have good chances to advance deep into the state tournament.”

Coach Reddish ended the dual season with 298 career wins.
