Golf Team Wrap Up

The Bel Air Bobcat Golf team has finished their memorable 2012 season. The Bobcats went 18-0 while winning all three tournaments that they participated in. The Bobcats won the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference Championship, the District 7 tournament, and the Harford County Public School Championship. The Bobcats also finished in the top 8 in the state championship as a team.

The Bobcats were led by team captains Matt Hottman (Senior), Nick Loiodice (Junior), and Bill Dearth (Senior). Matt Hottman won the individual award at the UBAC, District 7, and HCPS Championship. Nick Loiodice won the individual second place at the District 7 tournament.

Matt Hottman and Nick Loiodice both tied for 10th at the state championship for individuals, placing the best from anyone from Harford County.  Hottman led the Bobcats with a 9 hole scoring average of 36. Loiodice’s 9 hole average was 39. Bill Dearth, Sam Foss (Senior), Tyler Newton (Sophomore), and Cody Smith (Sophomore) all had a scoring average of 41.  Nick Rynes (Senior) had an average of 46 and Dave Jagodzinski had an average of 47. The seniors that will be graduating and will be greatly missed are Matt Hottman, Bill Dearth, Sam Foss, Nick Rynes, and David Jagodzinski.

“The season was a successful one,” said Hottman commenting on the season’s most memorable moments. When asked about what the best moments of the season were, Hottman replied, “Wining district for a second year in a row and beating C. Milton two times to go undefeated.” When asked what he would miss most about the team he said, “Just being around the team is what I will miss most.”
