Girls’ Volleyball Stays Undefeated: Wins Regional Championship

The Bel Air Girls Varsity Volleyball Team won the Regional Championship on Friday, November 9th against Towson High School. Bel Air defeated Towson in three games, with the third set ending 26-24. This brings the teams’ season record to 19-0 and they will play in the State-semifinals at College Park against North Hagerstown on Wednesday.

 The girls played a great game, starting strong and playing tough through the whole game. Celeste Roland had a great game with 15 kills, 8 digs, and 15 perfect passes. Tia Williams had hard hits all night and finished with 12 kills and 2 aces. Jackie Deluise also played a good game with 5 kills and 3 aces. Kaila Gonzalez added 4 kills and 2 blocks to the Bobcat score, while Rien Hachmann scored 3 aces. Amanda Rodriguez had 2 aces and set up the Bobcat attack with 30 assists. Outstanding back row defense came from Kendall Daley and Consuelo Ezcurra who combined for 13 digs and 18 perfect passes.

 Bel Air had powerful intensity that shook the Towson defense. They played as a team and were really in sync with each other. They were able to shake off their mistakes when things got close and battle for game point. The crowd stormed the court when Bel Air scored the winning point. This was a huge moment for the Girls’ Volleyball Team. Coach Markland is very proud of them for making it this far and gave thanks to all the families and fans in support of the team. The Lady Bobcats couldn’t be happier as they move on to the State-Semifinals this week. They are excited and enjoying every moment of this as a team.
