The Bel Air Bobcats Golf Team kept up its winning ways on Tuesday, September 25 as they won the District Tournament for the second year in a row. The golf team remains undefeated in the 2012 season.
Matt Hottman shot the best round of the tournament for second year in a row, doing so by shooting a 73. Nick Loiodice shot a 74, finishing in second for the second year in a row. The Bobcats shot a total of 315 with Bill Dearth shooting 83, Sam Foss shooting 85, and Tyler Newton shooting an 86. The Bobcats now have qualified for the state tournament that will take place in October.
Matt also carded 5 birdies on the day. On the 16th hole, Hottman used his pitching wedge to hit the ball within 10 feet of the hole to make his 5th birdie of the day. “I didn’t hit the ball great, but I made a few putts.” Hottman said. Nick Loiodice also had 4 birdies on the day.
The Bobcats played great throughout the entire tournament. All of the golfers wish they could have shot even better, showing that they are never satisfied with their current level of play. Despite this, they came out of the tournament with the win, which is enough to give them another chance to prove themselves in the State Tournament.
