The Bel Air Bobcats Golf Team placed 6th in the 4A-3A State golf championships. The event took place on Tuesday, October 25th and Wednesday, October 26th at University of Maryland Golf Course. The first day for Bel Air was a good day for the team as they had a total score of 331. Team captains Matt Hottman and Nick Loiodice both shot a score of 79. Sam Foss shot a 95 while Tyler Newton shot an 80. Nicole Haggerty was there as an individual for the women’s championship. She ended up not making it to the finals with score of 107 the first day. The Bobcats were in 7th place after the first day.
The second day was a good one, too. The team’s total score was a 328 for the finals. Team Captain Matt Hottoman shot a 75 improving, 4 strokes from the day before. Team Captain Nick Loiodice shot a 79 tying his score from the day before. Sam Foss shot a much improved score from the day before with a score of 86. While Tyler Newton shot an 88. Bel Air ended up with a total score for both days of 661. When asked about how the team played Coach Doyle responded by saying “Overall they played very well.” Bel Air finished 6th beating rival C.Miltion Wright, who didn’t make the team cut.
