Aberdeen Triumphs in Varsity Football Game

On Friday, October 14th, the Bel Air Bobcats varsity football team took on the Aberdeen Eagles in Bobcat Stadium. Bel Air (2-4)  went into the game coming off a loss to North Harford. The Bobcats were looking for some momentum by getting a win the week before Homecoming.

Aberdeen was the first team to score. They did so with 8 and a half minutes left in the 1st quarter. After a missed extra point attempt, the score was 6-0. 3 and a half minutes later, Aberdeen scored again. They made good on the 2 point conversion, bringing the score to 14-0. With a minute left in the 1st quarter, Aberdeen was in the end zone again and after a failed 2 point conversion, the score was 20-0. In the 2nd quarter, Aberdeen scored two more touchdowns. At the end of the half the score was 35-0, Aberdeen. 2 minutes into the 4th quarter, Aberdeen forced a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown. Kicking the extra point made the score 42-0. The Bobcats managed to avoid the shutout, with Alex Love running in the only Bel Air touchdown of the game with 3 and a half minutes left in the 4th quarter. The successful 2 point conversion attempt made the score 42-8. The score stayed at 42-8 for the rest of the game.

The Bobcats hope to get back on their feet in the Homecoming game. The game is on Thursday, October 27th and it will be against New Town High School at Bobcat Stadium. The cost of admission is $3 and $4 for adults.
