The Bel Air Bobcat’s golf team played Tuesday, September 20. Bel Air played at Maryland Golf and Country Club which is C.Milton Wright’s home course. Bel Air came into this match was 9-0 while the Mustangs were 10-0 comi. This matchup between Bel air, C.Miltion, and Northeast was advertised as the game of the week at Bel Air High. The course itself was in great shape and the sun was shining the whole time that they were playing. Team Captain Matt Hottman shot a 45, while Co-Captain Nick Liodice shot a 45. Freshman Tyler Newton shot a 48, Bill Dearth and Nick Rynes both shot a 49. Bel Air’s final score ended up being 234 while, C.Miltion finished with 226, and Northeast finished last with a total score of 265. Bel Air came up short losing by 8 strokes as C.Miltion improves to 11-0 while Bel Air goes to 9-1. Four of Bel Air’s six players had never played the course. One of the highlights was on the par three third hole. Bill Dearth hit his tee shot and it hit a tree and got an incredible bounce off the tree. The ball flew back towards the green landed just off the green. Bill then chipped on and then sank a putt for par. Overall, Bel Air played well but C.Miltion just played a bit better. Bel Air’s next match is the District VII Championships on Tuesday, September 27th at Chesapeake Bay at Ruggles Golf Course.
