The Bel Air Drama Company put on a phenomenal show of Legally Blonde, which for a lot of people, was their very last show. Legally blonde was my last show, considering I’m a senior here at Bel Air, and about to graduate.
This experience is bittersweet because drama has been the one thing that has stuck with me throughout my whole highschool life.
Through seven shows, many tech days, and long tech weeks, it has all come to an end. Sunday was the last day I would be in the scene shop again. The last day I would be around that group of people so closely.
Last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, consisted of 4 shows. Friday night’s show ended up selling out, where the director even had to open up the balcony. It was so loud, and the crown was roaring. Saturday night, closing night, was the loudest of all shows. The crowd came out and cheered and surprised the cast and crew.
Lots of tears were shed throughout closing night, especially during senior circle where all the seniors come together with the rest of the company and write a little speech about their experiences. But at the end, once everyone took their final bow, I held onto my friend’s hands on both sides and we danced and bowed in front of stage, to a loud, cheery crowd.
My whole experience with the drama company has had its ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I have met some of my best friends in this company. The Bel Air drama company should be something everyone should experience, it is unforgettable.
